We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mortgage Loan Operations Assistant to join our dynamic mortgage team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing mortgage loan applications and supporting loan officers in ensuring the smooth and timely processing of mortgage files from origination to closing. This role requires a strong understanding of mortgage loan products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Processing:
    • Collect, review, and verify mortgage loan applications, documents, and supporting information.
    • Order and manage appraisals, credit reports, title work, verifications of employment (VOE), and other necessary documentation.
    • Ensure loan files meet underwriting and compliance guidelines before submission for final approval.
    • Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to resolve issues or discrepancies.
  • Loan Tracking and Follow-up:
    • Track loan applications through the approval process, ensuring all necessary steps and documentation are completed.
    • Communicate with borrowers, realtors, and other relevant parties regarding the status of loans.
    • Assist with follow-up on any missing or incomplete documentation required for processing.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support to mortgage loan officers, including scheduling appointments and managing customer correspondence.
    • Maintain and organize loan files and ensure they are up to date in the loan origination system (LOS).
    • Prepare and distribute closing packages and coordinate with closing agents to ensure timely completion of the loan process.
  • Compliance and Regulatory:
    • Ensure all loans comply with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
    • Ensure accurate reporting of loans to NMLS.
    • Keep up to date with changes in loan processing, underwriting guidelines, and compliance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in mortgage processing, loan administration, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with mortgage loan products, underwriting requirements, and loan origination software ARIVE.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple files simultaneously.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA).
  • Certifications:
    • Loan Processing or Mortgage Origination certification is a plus.
