I was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, beginning my professional career in the construction industry. After visiting friends in Humboldt County a handful of times since 2009, weather prompted a 2014 move to Samoa. I quickly got involved in operations and administration in the nonprofit field, where I worked with stakeholders in housing, weatherization, environmental restoration, and direct services. I have since parlayed this background into providing operational and administrative support for the Humboldt Mortgage team, taking pride in demystifying what is often the scariest decision of a person’s life. My job is to make life easier for the borrowers, be they first time home buyers or commercial developers. In my off-time, I keep busy maintaining a menagerie of houseplants, learning to garden, fixing up furniture and trucks and bass guitars and other random things, taking in Humboldt’s gorgeous landscapes, and constantly consuming new music, especially live music.
